Paul Butler Associates provided conservation and heritage expertise to the Preston Muslim Society at an appeal hearing against Preston City Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for a replacement mosque in the city’s Fulwood Conservation Area.
In allowing the appeal, the Planning Inspector agreed with our view that the new mosque would replace a building of no particular merit with a high-quality and well-designed landmark which would make a positive contribution to the conservation area’s special character and distinctiveness.
