Infill Housing Schemes, Castlefield

Paul Butler Associates secured planning permission for four infill housing schemes in Castlefield Conservation Area in Manchester after overcoming a series of planning and conservation issues.
The schemes are all located within a street block bordered by Liverpool Road, Barton Street, Bridgwater Street and Southern Street close to the city's Roman fort. The street block contains a variety of Georgian and Victorian buildings that, although altered over the years, make a significant contribution to the conservation area's special character. The four approved schemes respect and enhance this character, whilst also repairing gaps in the streetscape.
