St Peter's Article 4 (2) Direction

Paul Butler Associates undertook work to introduce an Article 4 (2) Direction in the St Peter's area of Darwen Conservation Area.
Article 4 (2) Directions remove permitted development rights and are used to control the changes that people living in conservations areas can make to their homes.
St Peter's is included in the government's Housing Market Renewal (HMR) programme and a series of renovation and repair works were recently carried out on many of its houses. The Article 4 (2) Direction aims to prevent these works being 'undone' by unsympathetic changes.
